What is SAT-7?

SAT-7 is Christian satellite television by and for the people of the Middle East and North Africa. SAT-7’s three channels, SAT-7 ARABIC, SAT-7 KIDS (in Arabic) and SAT-7 PARS (in Farsi and Turkish) have a combined audience estimated at 10-12 million. Operated by a board of local churches and mission organizations, SAT-7 has its master control room and international offices in Cyprus, with studios in Egypt and Lebanon. Although this area is closed to most mission efforts, about half the population has access to satellite television, giving SAT-7 is an unparalleled means to present the Christian message in a culturally relevant way.

Although Christianity started in the Middle East, it is often seen as a "western" religion there. SAT-7 breaks down that prejudice. Rather than just repackaging programs from the West, SAT-7 produces over 80% of its own programs using local talent. SAT-7 is very encouraging to the Middle Eastern Christian minority. They realize they belong to a larger community as they worship and study God’s word with Christians of various nations and across denominational lines. Many pastors of small congregations (some secret) have little theological education, but they receive sound teaching from SAT-7.
