Who We Are

SAT-7 IS A DYNAMIC TELEVISION SERVICE BY AND FOR THE CHRISTIANS OF THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA

It is not an overstatement to say that this is a historic chance to respond to Christ's Great Commission on an unprecedented scale.

SAT-7 is distinct from most other Christian broadcasting in the region because more than three-quarters of its programs are created in the Middle East, by local Christians, in SAT-7 production studios in Egypt and Lebanon. It is not Western-based programming, dubbed into Arabic and broadcasted from the West. It does not explicitly attack Islam or the Muslim culture. It is positive and uplifting Christian programming, by and for the People of the Middle East and North Africa – expertly contextualized, easily understood, and culturally sensitive to the population, thus having a significant impact on its viewers.

The majority of Middle Eastern people are not the hate-filled extremists so often portrayed in the media. They are family and community-minded people with dreams of peace and normalcy. They are a people thirsting for hope and spirituality.

The development of uncensored satellite broadcasts has provided a strategic breakthrough for Christian ministry in this region. Through SAT-7, the voice of Middle Eastern Christians is now being heard in an unprecedented way.

"SAT-7 can take the message of God's love to places that the church cannot reach in any other way." Rev. Dr. Salim Sahiouny, President of the Supreme Council of the Evangelical Community in Syria and Lebanon

Seven Important Distinctives of SAT-7

  • SAT-7's International Board of Directors is comprised mainly of representatives of the different churches in the Middle East.
  • SAT-7's programming is politically and culturally sensitive and never attacks another faith or denomination.
  • SAT-7 plans its broadcast schedule for the benefit of its viewers and is not driven by sponsored programming, which it normally does not accept.
  • SAT-7 carries a wide range of programs for different audiences – with a special emphasis on the needs of children, youth, and women.
  • 80% of SAT-7's programming is indigenously made, by Middle Eastern Christians.
  • SAT-7 is a multi-agency and inter-denominational partnership with a unique network of partner-operated telephone counseling and audience follow-up centers.
  • SAT-7 maintains production centers in multiple Middle Eastern countries – recognizing the importance of the involvement of the local church in locally made programming.

Over the past twelve years, SAT-7 has been instrumental in helping to bring the love of Christ to the people of the Middle East and North Africa. In the midst of mounting political insecurity and anti-Christian sentiment we are faced with both challenges and opportunities we have never before witnessed.

The leadership of SAT-7 has crafted a bold vision for the growth and enhancement of this critical ministry.
