A Powerful Story of Transformation

We received a letter (edited here for space,) "I am Nabil. I am 20 years old. I started to know about Jesus when I was only twelve. Strangely enough, I used to pray my own way to the Living God without even knowing about Christianity. I used to put my hands together and pray with my own words to God."

"One day during my prayer Jesus appeared to me. I did not know (at the time) it was Jesus or Isa. He said to me, 'Come into my house," I asked, "Where is your house?" He answered, "The Church."

Even though he was but 12-years old, Nabil found a church, and courageously went in: "Everyone was a foreigner except for me so the priest asked to see me after the service. He wondered what brought me there and I told him my story. So he asked me to come and meet with him every Sunday and I did for a few weeks."

"But one Sunday I was late to get back home and my parents hit me hard when they knew that I was at church. I was forbidden to leave the house except for school."

"After some time we bought a satellite dish and as I zapped through the channels, my eyes were caught up with 'The first Arabic channel for Christians in the Middle East and North Africa' ... It was SAT-7... This channel is for me," I said to myself.

Nabil watched, and even responded, secretly entering a children's program contest. But later, his mother again discovered him watching. Enraged and screaming, she again began to beat young Nabil. As she raised her fist they were both startled to hear his name read by the SAT-7 announcer. Nabil had won the contest.

SAT-7 sent Nabil his prize, a t-shirt, and a New Testament, which his mother confiscated and hid. Nabil continues: "Secretly, I kept searching until I found it and went eagerly reading it. The first thing I read, 'In the beginning was the Word and the Word with with God...' Suddenly all was clear for me... It needed no more explanation... He who appeared to me when I was praying at a younger age is Jesus Christ and He is the Way."

Now as a young adult, Nabil is involved with media, and particularly television. He has been corresponding with SAT-7, wanting to use his talents to reach out to other children in his Middle Eastern nation, just as the Lord used SAT-7 to reach him.

Today, there are hundreds of thousands of kids, like Nabil, who are regular viewers of SAT-7 KIDS.
