SAT-7 USA Announces New President

Easton, Md., August 11, 2009: The SAT-7 USA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rex M. Rogers as President. Dr. Rogers most recently served as Vice President for The Timothy Group, a fundraising and leadership consulting firm, including the past several months as Interim Executive Director for SAT-7 USA.

"The entire SAT-7 USA Board of Directors is excited about the deep experience and exceptional leadership Dr. Rogers brings to the organization,” said SAT-7 Board Chair Peter Schulze.

Dr. Rogers served for more than thirty years in Christian higher education, the last seventeen as President of Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, Michigan. As President, Dr. Rogers directed a three-part enterprise comprising an undergraduate and graduate program, two seminaries, one in Asia, and a large radio division, including “Mission Network News” and “His Kids Radio.” He led the institution through transformational growth and change, including name changes and development of university status, new facilities and campus development, new academic programs and increased academic quality, and significant enrollment growth.

Dr. Rogers is the author of the books Gambling: Don’t Bet on It (Baker, 1997; Kregel, 2005); and Christian Liberty: Living for God in a Changing Culture (Baker, 2003). He co-authored with Dr. Rick Amidon, the leadership book Today You Do Greatness (CS Publishing, forthcoming), and he is currently writing Be One of God’s Unlikely Leaders—Live With Focus, Get Things Done.

Dr. Rogers was also the sixteen-year author and voice of the daily radio program and author of a nationally syndicated newspaper column called “Making a Difference.” The program was a Christian commentary on culture, politics, leadership, religion, and a wide variety of current events and issues.

He brings with him expertise in a variety of organizational fields, including leadership development and coaching, strategic planning, mission and vision development, organizational structure and administration, fundraising and capital campaigns, and shaping organizational culture. Dr. Rogers is excited about serving in SAT-7. “This is the perfect time to bring the ministry of SAT-7 to a new level of awareness in the United States. SAT-7 gives Middle Eastern Christians the unprecedented opportunity to have a voice and gives all viewers a clear presentation of the Gospel.”

Dr. Rogers holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Akron, and a B.A. in Social Science from Cedarville University. He speaks regularly in churches, schools, commencements and other special events, business environments, and conferences.

Dr. and Mrs. Rogers have four adult children and three grandchildren.
