LOVING OUR NEIGHBORS
Cultures in the Middle East and North Africa can vary widely, and people face discrimination that may come from long-held biases. In many countries reached by SAT-7’s satellite, online, video-on-demand, and social media, there continues to be widespread discrimination and the unjust treatment of many people. Women are considered inferior to men, lack access to education, and are only a possession. Anyone who has physical or mental disabilities, any who live in poverty, are in prison, are in a minority group, or are refugees, are ostracized by society and seen as a burden. But SAT-7 shares the truth of God’s Word and gives a voice to the voiceless.
Inspired by Jesus’ teaching regarding caring for the least of these recorded in Matthew 25:31-40, SAT-7 programming is helping change people’s hearts and culture by standing up for those forgotten, looked down upon, or suffering. SAT-7’s biblically-based teaching, talk, and special interest programming teach viewers that every person is made in the image of God, loved by God and that Christians are accountable to love our neighbor as ourselves. We hear from husbands who now view their wives as valuable partners, men and women who want to help alleviate the desperate suffering of those they once saw as worthless, and people who show kindness to those they once thought were outcasts.
