“Christ took my hand”

It is difficult to realize that humans live in a broken world. Many distractions can cause an interruption in life. Boran, a viewer from Iran, shared his experience with SAT-7 which was about a time when his life felt dark and hopeless.

Boran shared, “I have been a believer for about 15 years. In the early days of my faith, I was doing well but lacking access to social media, plus the closure of my local church, I became isolated and fell into various philosophies, including mysticism.” Unfortunately, this distraction led him down a path of mental destruction.

He said, “I reached a point where I was in total darkness. I came face to face with myself, and there is nothing more terrifying than oneself. For three or four months, I was consumed by thoughts of suicide from morning until night. I realized that I was nothing, and yet even in this nothingness, I wanted to disappear by any means possible. I was heading towards destruction.”

During a time of darkness, it can be easy to fall into the lie that God can’t be reached. Fortunately for Boran, he was not alone. He overcame the darkness. “I reached a point where I couldn’t think about God at all. One morning, I woke up and felt that my thoughts had changed. My God! I felt like I had come out of that darkness. Christ took my hand,” he said.

Boran’s life had changed from one day to the next, thanks to the grace and love of Christ. “Now, I no longer think about death, and I feel so alive. Christ lives in me, and I am filled with His joy and love,” he shared.
