I am deeply grateful for your precious prayers and encouraging programs. There is no church here, but thanks to you I never feel alone."
— Viewer from Türkiye
Learning about the character of God and discussing how to live for Him is a fun-filled experience for young SAT-7 KIDS viewers. The live children’s show Behind the Door is using games, music, and quizzes to engage children with God’s Word and inspire them to follow Jesus.
“We want to show all the viewers, regardless of their age, that we can have fun and grow spiritually,” says Manessa, one of the young presenters of Behind the Door. “We can enjoy our life and do lots of activities, and at the same time we can live like Jesus, according to the Bible.”
Highly Interactive
Each episode is highly interactive and centers around the opening of two doors on the program’s colorful set. Behind the first door is the title of the episode: a biblical theme that is scrambled up and needs to be deciphered by viewers. When the presenters open the second door, a video of a pre-recorded sketch relating to the theme is played as a further clue.
Young viewers are encouraged to engage with the program in various ways, from answering questions about the episode’s theme to guessing which presenter will win the latest game.
“In each episode, I learn something new from the kids,” said Manessa. “Sometimes we ask, ‘Can you tell us this Bible story in your own words?’ and they start explaining the story. Sometimes we are shocked! We think, ‘How can you know all of these details?!’”
Impacting Children’s Lives
Behind the Door is helping children grow in faith and put Christian values into practice in their daily lives. Its success is evidenced by a growing catalog of viewer feedback.
Taline from Syria shared what she has learned from Behind the Door. “I’ve learned not to show off,” she said, “but instead to help others, give, and read the Word of God, as that’s what God wants us to do.”
Manessa found one testimony particularly touching: “A mother called us and said, ‘My son has been watching Behind the Door and SAT‑7 KIDS, and he learned a lot of things.’ And also, we helped him to believe more in Jesus. This really touched our hearts. We are not just presenting a program; we are sending a message that stays with the viewers and impacts their lives.”
The Character of God
The latest season of Behind the Door has focused on the character of God with episodes showcasing His characteristics, such as His holiness, goodness, love, and faithfulness. In the episode about God’s faithfulness, young viewers were encouraged to rely on God and His Word because He is steadfast and trustworthy.
“God is faithful,” a young viewer named Caline responded. “We can see that in the Bible when He promised His disciples that He wouldn’t leave them alone, but He’d send the Holy Spirit to comfort them.”
In another episode, viewers were asked, “How does God’s love show itself in our daily lives?” One girl’s response was especially moving. “Jesus changed many things in my life,” she said. “Although I wasn’t a good person, He showed me His love regardless of what I did, which changed my life. We love Him because He loves us.”
When young viewers contact the show and prove that they are really grasping the episode’s message, it encourages Manessa – and everyone else working on Behind the Door – to keep up the good work.
I watch all of your live shows. Sometimes I watch for 4-5 hours a day. I owe the changes in my life to SAT‑7’s programs; I don’t have any other source, as I have no Christian friends and no Bible."
