Standing by the Door

I hope this message finds you well and filled with the spirit of service that guides our collective desire to make the Gospel available across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Today, I am reminded of the profound words of Sam Shoemaker from his timeless work, “I Stand at the Door.” In these poignant verses, Shoemaker illuminates a truth that resonates deeply with our calling at SAT-7 – a calling to stand faithfully by the door, welcoming all who seek God’s grace and truth.

“I stand by the door. I neither go too far in nor stay too far out.” These words encapsulate the delicate balance we strive to maintain in our own lives. We are called not only to embrace the profound depths of spiritual growth but also to extend our hands to those still searching, still feeling along the walls for the door that leads to God’s presence.

Shoemaker challenges us not to forget our journey before we found the door, reminding us of the struggle and the longing that many still face. This is our invitation – to remember, to empathize, and to extend a guiding hand to those who have not yet found their way, or who may have faltered on their journey.

As SAT-7 ministry partners, each of you plays a crucial role in this endeavor. You are the doorkeepers, the ones who, through your financial and prayer support, enable the truth and hope of the Gospel to continue to be broadcast across the MENA region. Your partnership allows the proclamation of God’s voice to be clearly heard but also lends a listening ear to the voices of those still outside – voices yearning for hope, for guidance, and for the transformative power of the Gospel.

Together, we stand ready at the threshold, knowing that our place is not just near to God but also near to humanity. We are called to serve not only the masses but also the individual hearts that come seeking. Whether it’s one person or millions, each soul is precious; each encounter is an opportunity to share the light that has been entrusted to us.

Therefore, I invite you to continue standing with me by the door. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to reach out, uplift, and guide those who are on their journey toward God. Your continued partnership ensures that together, the door stays open, perhaps even wider, so that all may find the love and grace that await them.
