Forgiving someone who has wronged us can be challenging. Just as Jesus forgave those who wronged Him, believers are called to forgive others. Thamar, a viewer from Jordan, shared her testimony about how she forgave her abuser.

“I have experienced sexual assault on numerous occasions since I was a young girl, the worst of which occurred when I was just 10 years old at the hands of my father. My father started molesting me,” said Thamar. When she was wronged by someone who was supposed to protect her, Thamar felt confused and guilty.

However, Thamar found herself at a church a couple of years later. “It was a terrible thing until I turned 12. I went to church and came to faith in Jesus. I remember one day praying and asking the Lord from my heart that this abuse would stop. Suddenly, the assault stopped completely.

Thamar welcomed Jesus into her heart and began a healing journey of forgiveness toward her father. She was able to let go of what he had done to her, and she was able to love him again. Thamar said, “God took me on a healing journey that I can say continues to this day. Until my father died, I was there to support him through God’s sustenance and strength. I continued to show him respect and love.”

Thamar’s trust in Jesus led her to a life filled with love instead of hate. She has been blessed with a loving husband and three children. “God graciously gave me 3 children, the best gift ever. God is good. He is great. He is our healer, comforter, and omnipotent God. All glory be to Him.”

Please pray for viewers like Thamar who have faced abuse. Pray for the strength to forgive as Jesus forgave and to love as Jesus loved.
